Flame Towers Baku: best viewpoints, night lights and what is inside

The Flame Towers are three curved glass towers on the hill above Baku's Old City. They work best as a skyline landmark, not as a museum with a front door: one contains the Fairmont hotel, and the others contain residences and offices.

Can tourists enter?

There is no general Flame Towers ticket and no public observation deck advertised for the complex. Hotel guests, restaurant customers and business visitors use the relevant commercial entrances. For most travellers, the useful experience is the exterior and the city panorama around it.

The two viewpoints that matter

Highland Park gives the close view. Walk around the free public park and continue to the terrace above Baku Bay. The towers fill the frame behind you while the Old City, Maiden Tower and Caspian seafront spread below.

Baku Boulevard gives the complete skyline. From the waterfront the three towers read as one composition, with reflections and the historic city beneath them. Azerbaijan's tourism board recommends both Highland Park and the boulevard as the principal viewpoints.

When do the lights start?

The façades become large animated screens after dark, displaying flame, flag and colour sequences through thousands of LEDs. No dependable daily start time is officially published. Arrive around sunset and stay until full darkness rather than planning a five-minute stop for a claimed exact start.

The exterior viewpoints are free and have no attraction closing time. The funicular is useful when operating, but service interruptions occur; keep a taxi or uphill walk as the alternative.

Old Baku and modern Baku in one route

See the Old City and Maiden Tower in daylight, descend to the boulevard, then go up to Highland Park around sunset. The next half-day can cover the Heydar Aliyev Center. That order explains Baku's historical and modern architecture without crossing the city repeatedly.
