Chenot Palace Gabala: 2026 Prices, What's Included, and Is It Worth It?

Chenot Palace Gabala is a medical-wellness retreat in the Gabala foothills of Azerbaijan's Greater Caucasus, run by the Chenot Group across a 6,000 m² medical spa and staffed, in the group's own words, by over 100 medical-wellness experts. It holds an official 5-star category on Azerbaijan's state hotel register. Its three core programs start at AZN 7,800 for a mandatory 7-night stay, program fee only; the room is billed separately, from AZN 750 a night, on top.

Why Chenot Gabala is priced the way it is

Chenot sells a program, not a room. Access to the property is granted only to guests following a Chenot program, so there is no room-only rate to benchmark against, no day use, and no stay shorter than seven nights. The program fee and the room are two separate lines, which is why published totals disagree so widely.

That structure is deliberate and it is the whole reason the property is hard to price-compare. A guest looking at a AZN 7,800 headline is looking at roughly 60% of what they will actually pay. We have watched more than one enquiry arrive with the program fee mistaken for the all-in figure, and the correction lands badly at the point of deposit.

How much does Chenot Palace Gabala cost?

Chenot Palace Gabala runs three named programs, priced from AZN 7,800 to AZN 10,600 for the program alone, each requiring a minimum seven nights and each billed separately from the room. The cheapest realistic combination, Advanced Detox plus seven nights in the entry room category, comes to about AZN 13,050 before flights and extras.

The room is never included. Chenot publishes six accommodation categories with per-night rates, and because the minimum stay is fixed at seven nights, each rate carries a fixed weekly consequence on top of whichever program fee applies.

Chenot does not sell anything shorter, and it says so plainly: stays under seven nights and overnight stays for any purpose other than following a program are not permitted, day use is not available, and a seven-night program can be booked out to 14 nights. The program itself has to be chosen before arrival.

Then the money. Full prepayment is required to hold the booking. Cancellation is free 21 or more days before arrival. Inside that window Chenot's published scale converts the money to credit rather than returning it: 20 to 14 days out, 80% credit; 13 to 7 days, 50%; under 7 days, 20%; a no-show is 100% non-refundable. For a stay in this price band that ladder is the most expensive clause in the terms and the one buyers skim.

Treat every number above as a starting point, not a quote. Chenot prices in AZN and revises figures by season and room tier, and we have seen third-party wellness agents advertise the same retreat in EUR under different program names, with figures that do not reconcile against Chenot's own page. Use the AZN "from" figures here as the reference point and get a written quote against your exact dates.

What's included in a Chenot Gabala program?

Every Chenot Gabala program opens with baseline diagnostics, runs on the same roughly 850-calorie-a-day Chenot Diet, and layers hydrotherapy, massage and technology-based treatments around it. The three programs differ in which treatments get the most time, not in the underlying structure.

Chenot's own site names the four markers its Lifestyle Biomarkers assessment measures: vascular age, mineral and heavy-metal intoxication, advanced glycation end products, and skin collagen thickness. We list them because guests ask what the diagnostics session actually produces, and a named measurement list is a fairer answer than "full diagnostics."

An 850-calorie daily intake is a substantial calorie deficit; most adults will lose weight and may feel lighter and more alert within a week on any comparably supervised low-calorie diet, wherever it happens. That's expected physiology, not evidence that the program removes toxins from the body, which the word "Detox" implies. The "Ageing Well" program name carries the same problem: a week of hydrotherapy, massage and calorie restriction has not been shown to slow biological ageing in any trial we found. None of this means the week isn't a good reset for some guests. It means the program names are brand language, not a documented clinical result, and we would rather say that plainly than let the naming do the work.

Chenot's FAQ is also honest about what the week feels like while it is running. It lists fatigue, headaches, digestive issues, mood swings and flu-like symptoms as expected effects of the program. We repeat that here because guests who booked what they read as a spa week are frequently surprised by day three, and nobody enjoys hearing it for the first time on site.

What does a seven-night stay actually cover?

Seven nights is six treatment days. Chenot's own FAQ states that the arrival day begins with the detox dinner and no other treatments. Check-in runs from 15:00 on any day of the week, check-out is 14:00, programs can be booked up to 14 nights, and a further extension is decided with the consulting doctor at the mid-stay consultation.

The rest of the house rules matter as much as the price, and most of them only surface after a deposit has been paid:

• No non-participating companions. Overnight stays by anyone not following a program are not permitted, and there is no day-use rate. A spouse who wants a quiet week reading needs a hotel elsewhere in Gabala.
• Children are charged daily, not per stay. Chenot publishes AZN 200 a day for ages 8 to 12 and AZN 260 a day for 13 and over. Guests aged 16 to 18 may follow a program accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Chenot states the program is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding mothers. That is the property's own wording, and it is a booking condition rather than our advice.
• Working language is Azerbaijani, with English, Russian and Turkish spoken. Translation for medical consultations can be arranged at extra cost, which is worth pre-booking rather than discovering on arrival.
• Pets: small dogs only, maximum 6 kg, one per room, in designated rooms.

Is Chenot Palace Gabala worth it?

For a guest who wants a fully supervised week, calorie restriction, hydrotherapy and diagnostics with no decisions to make, and who can absorb roughly AZN 13,000-plus for 7 nights before flights, Chenot Palace Gabala delivers that specific experience well. It's a poor fit for anyone wanting a flexible, room-only or shorter stay.

As of our July 2026 research, Tripadvisor put Chenot Palace Gabala at around 4.9 out of 5 from roughly 69 reviews, ranking it #2 of 14 hotels in Qabala. Guests writing those reviews keep coming back to the same points: the location, changes they noticed within days, the staff, and a diet that tasted better than they expected. Treat the exact rating and review count as a snapshot; both move. Chenot's own site describes Advanced Detox as the winner of the World's Best Detox Programme in 2025 for the fifth year running, which we note as brand evidence rather than clinical evidence.

Anyone drawn in specifically by "detox" or "anti-ageing" as medical claims should recalibrate before booking; per the section above, the honest sell is a structured, supervised, fairly expensive reset week, not a documented treatment. Guest reviews also skew toward Russian, CIS, Turkish and Azerbaijani travelers, which tracks with how the property is marketed regionally.

One local comparison worth knowing before you assume Chenot is the only option in the district: Gabala also carries a star-classified thermal property, Yengice Thermal Resort, listed at 4 stars on the same state register. It sells nothing like a supervised program and it is a different product at a very different price, but it exists, and a guest whose real requirement is warm water and a week off should hear about it.

Chenot Gabala vs Weggis and other Chenot retreats

Chenot Palace Gabala is one property in a group that runs the same method, diet and diagnostics system elsewhere, including its original site in Weggis, Switzerland. We can confirm Gabala's prices and terms directly from Chenot's own site; we could not independently verify current 2026 pricing or program names for Weggis or other locations in this research pass.

We are not going to publish numbers we cannot stand behind, so treat any Weggis or other-location pricing you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until it comes from Chenot directly. What we can say with confidence: Gabala is the option inside easy reach of the Caucasus and the Caspian, not the Alps, and it's priced in Azerbaijani manat rather than Swiss francs or euros. How do you get to Chenot Palace Gabala?

Chenot Palace Gabala sits in Nohurgishlag, in the Gabala district, above Nohur (Garanohur) Lake. The resort publishes three distances: Gabala International Airport 30 km, Ganja International 170 km, and Heydar Aliyev in Baku 220 km. Nearly every international guest arrives through Baku and transfers by road on the M4 through Shamakhi.

The rail line is the real change here. Azerbaijan Railways launched the first regular daily Ganja to Gabala service on 12 January 2026, with stops at Goran, Yevlakh, Laki and Agdash, and the operator's own announcement points at daily Baku to Gabala travel through the Laki connection. It is cheap and it is scenic. It is also a two-leg journey with a transfer, so we still put program guests in a car.

Do not build an arrival around a domestic flight. On 11 and 12 August 2026 the Heydar Aliyev departures board listed Nakhchivan as the only domestic destination, with no Gabala or Ganja departures on either day. Chenot describes Gabala International as operating during the season and available for private flights, but that is the resort's wording rather than a published timetable. The Baku to Gabala schedule still circulating online, Friday and Sunday at 16:30 for 48 manat, traces back to a January 2017 article and should not be planned against.

One more caution on the road. The Mughanli to Ismayilli to Gabala section of the Baku to Gabala highway has been under construction since 2021: 85.6 km, 17 bridges, an 885 m tunnel, and 8.8 km cut off the route when it opens. The last inspection we can date put it at 70% complete on 26 May 2025. Anyone quoting you a materially shorter drive time is quoting a road that is not finished.

What we would not recommend

Four things we steer clients away from at this property, all of them learned from bookings that needed fixing rather than from the brochure. Each one costs either money or a treatment day if you get it wrong, and none of them is obvious from inside Chenot's own booking funnel.

• A tight same-day arrival. Check-in is 15:00 and the arrival day is a detox dinner with no treatments. A flight landing after early evening costs you part of a treatment day you have already paid for. If the inbound lands late, fly in the day before and sleep in Baku.
• Bringing a partner who does not want the program. Chenot does not admit non-program overnight guests and does not sell day use. Book them a separate property in Gabala or accept that they are not coming.
• Booking the entry room to save money without doing the arithmetic. Room category is charged per night across all seven nights. The step from Deluxe Room to Junior Suite is AZN 1,610 over the week, and the step to Deluxe Suite is AZN 3,290. Decide once, at booking.
• Treating a bookable wellness week as a substitute for care you would otherwise get at home. Chenot's consultation happens on arrival, and its FAQ does not describe any pre-arrival medical questionnaire. Ask your own doctor about the calorie restriction, the cryochamber and any medication you take before you pay a non-refundable deposit, not after.

What we don't do

Four limits on what this page and this company will tell you, set out before you go looking for them. Private guests and corporate buyers both scan a page like this for the catch, and naming ours in advance is cheaper for everyone than being asked about it after a deposit has moved.

• We don't operate Chenot Palace Gabala. The Chenot Group runs the property and its clinical program; we didn't design the treatments and we don't decide who qualifies for which one.
• We don't quote a single all-in Chenot price. Program fee and room rate are billed separately, room category changes the total, and Chenot revises both by season, so any number we give you today could be wrong by your travel dates.
• We don't call the programs a proven detox or anti-ageing treatment. We've explained above why "Detox" and "Ageing Well" are brand names, not documented outcomes; we're not going to repeat the marketing framing as if it were ours.
• We don't claim the property is open year-round. Chenot advertises year-round access to its outdoor pool, courts and fitness classes but publishes no opening or closing months. We ask for the dates in writing rather than assume them.
