Why does this 7-day shape work for families?

It alternates intensive culture days with resort recovery days, and switches anchor properties at the midpoint so the program never feels like more of the same hotel. The hard part of a family itinerary in the Caucasus is pacing. Adults can do petroglyphs and mountain hikes back to back; kids cannot.

This itinerary is one product in our Azerbaijan DMC catalogue for international tour operators. It is sample, adaptable, and ready to be re-priced to your contracted hotel rates.

What we deliberately left out

  • No long city-tour mornings on travel days. Days 4 and 6 are transfer days; we keep the touring light to absorb the 3-hour road segments without family meltdown.
  • No early starts. Default departure window is 09:30 across the program. If the booking adults prefer earlier, we adjust, but the default is built for kids.

How long are the inter-region transfers?

Three road legs anchor the week: Baku to Gabala on day 4, Gabala to Shahdag on day 6, and Shahdag back to Baku on day 7. None runs past 3.5h in normal conditions. The M1 to Gabala can stretch from 3.5h to 5h on Friday afternoons, so we default day 4 to a Monday-Thursday departure where the itinerary permits. The Gabala to Shahdag transfer is a less-trafficked route and reliably 3h.

Is halal food available across the whole trip?

Yes, end to end if requested at booking. Both anchor resorts in Gabala and Shahdag run halal-default kitchens. The Baku 5★ properties offer halal as a confirmed option, not retrofitted. GCC family bookings: no menu negotiation required.
